MPP's commission is calculated based on three factors specific to your film: file size, runtime, and your selling price. This means filmmakers with shorter or smaller files keep more — and there's no flat percentage that punishes lower-priced films.

Once your details are submitted, you'll receive a transparent breakdown showing exactly what you earn per sale. You pay MPP's commission on your chosen schedule: weekly, monthly, or on demand.

Recommended viewing rules

You can change these to suit your film.

  • Each rental lasts 24 hours from when the customer first plays the film
  • Customers can watch the film up to 3 times during that 24 hours
You can adjust both — set a longer or shorter rental window, allow more or fewer views per rental.

What does it cost to list my film?
Nothing upfront. MPP earns only when you earn — through a commission on each sale based on your film's specs.
Do I have to sign an exclusivity contract?
No. MPP is non-exclusive. You can sell your film on other platforms at the same time — we don't lock you in.
How is my film protected from piracy?
Each customer receives a unique, time-limited watch token via email and SMS. Links expire after 24 hours and views are capped per rental. Films are streamed, not downloaded.
How fast do I get paid?
Money lands in your M-Pesa Paybill instantly with each customer purchase. You then settle MPP's commission on your chosen schedule — weekly, monthly, or on demand.
What if I don't have a Paybill?
No problem. You can use MPP's Paybill — we'll collect on your behalf and pay you out on your chosen schedule.
What format should my film be in?
MP4 (H.264 codec) is ideal. We can also work with MOV and other common formats. Final cut, ready for streaming. We'll guide you on specs during onboarding.
How long does setup take?
Once we have your film file and all details, your film goes live within 48 hours.
